Train Time # 12

Today, it’s the 3:20 bound for Homewood.

Once again, in the wake of the tragic shooting in Florida, our Federal Government has proven that it has our better interests in mind… that it is working hard, like a well oiled machine, passing the laws and providing the leadership needed to keep our streets safe, and our finances flush!

…NOT!!!

There was a vote today. Actually, there was 4 bills up for a vote on the floor of the Senate: two sponsored by the Republicans and two by the Democrats. Each bill included things that would effect the sales and purchasing of guns in the United States.

The Senate needs 60 votes to pass a bill – a majority of the house. The voting, in all 4 cases, went right along party lines: with each party only voting for the bill their party brought forward. As neither party has a majority of members, no body passed anything.

In the end, each side busied themselves finger pointing across the isle, blaming the other side for their collective failure at passing a gun control bill that would keep our nations streets safe.

The next “best part of the story” is that all 4 of these bills were not even bills that had been drafted in the wake of the shooting. These were all existing bills that were mainly for other issues that just happened to have gun control elements in them.

Our fearless law makers just grabbed these 4 hoping that they could pass something in this election year that might make their side look good, make the other side look bad, and then enjoy their continued employment in Washington DC…

OH… and maybe help people feel better about that… whatever it was in Florida that has people so upset this week.

I have always tried to keep a positive outlook on things. I have always tried to take the higher road and believe that the system works, the politicians really do care, and we are all going to be OK in the end.

But unfortunately…

Lets face it people.

This government as it stands, does not work.

We lost 49 people that day, by one disillusioned American with the guns and the guts needed to turn people’s lives into a living hell.

All real terrorist’s around the world are watching us, waiting to see what we are going to do…

Knowing all along that in reality, their job is simple:

That with the right amount of propaganda, and a little patience…

This country will tear itself apart…

While the Government points and blames someone else…

And the United States: slowly throws itself into anarchy.

One shooting at a time.
