Merry Christmas Harriet (Original)
For years, as they continued trying to have a family, Harriet made it a special part of the Christmas season to go into town and purchase toys as gifts. She purchased toys for girls and boys of various younger ages, and then brought them home to put in her hope chest. The people in town thought it rather strange for a woman with no children to be spending money on toys. But, Philip didn’t mind. Money was never really a problem anyway and they knew that buying toys and putting them away was simply a smart thing to do – they would be needed someday anyway.
But for Harriet, someday would never arrive.
