My real name is Ronald.
DaFaDa came from raising three kids, all of whom are in their twenty’s by now (2013), and I just liked the way it sounded. It started as a play with the phrase “The Father”, except pretend you’re trying to do a poor impersonation of a movie style Italian mobster. I was “DaFaDa”. I still am Da FaDa, they’re just older now and don’t ask the same questions they used to. I am proud to be “The Father” of my kids. I used it when they were younger and it just stuck.
I am an I.T. director (Information Technology) working in the great city of Chicago. I’ve been pushing buttons and jiggling mice for over 16 years working in the Engineering industry.
As for this blog:
My daughter posted a picture of me on her Facebook page, and someone commented that I looked like I was a writer. My daughter responded that I used to be a writer…
I’m not upset about how my daughter responded. I guess her response just made me think a bit. Truth is I was a writer; but I haven’t written anything for years. Writing used to be a big part of my life. I liked to write children’s stories and I used to do storytelling in front of schools and libraries. I’ve written a nice collection of stories but available time and other responsibilities made me put them aside to be replaced with paying bills and other tasks.
Another piece of this puzzle is that like most men, I am opinionated. I have an opinion on just about everything from politics to religion, from family and marriage and sex and raising children to computer games and music.
So…
You put the two together and you get a frustrated writer with a lot to say.
So I set up this blog. I set this up because I’m always thinking amazing printable thoughts, and sometimes, I even speak them… but lately I never write them down. So I set up this blog. I set this up because I got stories to tell and opinions to share, and I need to tell the president what he’s doing wrong and what he’s doing right. I need to pour out my heart onto the page (even though it’s now a digital page) and let the world know what I’m thinking.
So I set up this blog.
And please know that I do understand. I am under no false presumption that loads of people will read this. I’m sure that the president will never get my message. I realize that, with the possible exception of my kids, this blog is more for me than anyone else.
And so, for what it’s worth, I will write my stories, and share my opinions and my thoughts, and I will smile a big smile every time my words hit the screen… even if I’m the only person who reads it.
Welcome to my blog!
