Stupid is as stupid does…
I have been riding for over 25 years. It’s hard enough being a responsible rider to survive out there with all the stupid people thinking they own the road. It is compounded when the “Stupid people” are on the bikes. Bottom line: You can see the video; you can see that the biker backed into his car. At that point, there is not much a driver can do except avoid as best as he can. Although it is a bit farther away, you can also see that the driver stopped. Turtles can’t walk backwards…
When my kids were younger, I used this as a inspirational phrase when they were down or discouraged. The point was that turtles may walk kind of slow, but they always keep moving forward; they never turn back and give up the fight. It worked when they were younger… Good thing Google was not so prevalent back then because they would have been able to quickly find out, like I did, that turtles can in fact walk backwards. …Oh well, it was a good thought at the time!
