Let’s not get too distracted!

Before I even get started, allow me to make a couple of things clear:

Yes, I agree that, from a global perspective, there are wrongs that need making right.

The world does indeed have many ‘bad eggs’ that we all might be better off without.

…And most importantly:

I have always been, and will always be, proud of our troops who put themselves in harm’s way. It is their duty -a responsibility that they knew would require difficult decisions. They all knew that, when called, they would have to answer that call; even if only in answer to what someone else believes is “the right thing to do”.

Despite the present state of things in this country and the world, I am still a proud American, even if that feeling of pride is a little hard to achieve sometimes.

However…

First it was Argentina, and now Iran. This has been the way of our countries’ “Commander and Chief”: To send troops in harm’s way for the good of the country, by eliminating specific ‘bad actors’ and their power base.

And his term is only beginning its second year.

This is the same Commander and Chief who, not too long ago, ran a campaign promising to be a President that would avoid military conflict.

Congress has already tried to vote on a bill stating that this latest military move is unconstitutional. So far this has proven to be difficult because of those still hard-liner MEGA supporters in Congress. No doubt Congress will continue to focus more scrutiny on the Presidents’ actions to see if there is any precedent that can block or at least try and rein him in a bit. These efforts will continue to attempt to declare his actions illegal; even unconstitutional based upon the fact that only Congress can declare war; at least according to the Constitution.

Unfortunately, in the history of these United States, no formal declaration of war has been made by Congress since 1942.

Yet since then, we have been involved in the Korean War (3 years), the Vietnam War (14 years), the Gulf War (1 year), the Afghanistan war (10 years), the Iraq war (8 years), and many other military actions and interventions.

So, there is obviously a precedent for this kind of thing happening, especially without Congress.

So much so in fact that in 1973, Congress passed the War Powers Resolution. Basically, this law requires the president to notify Congress within 48 hours of deploying forces that some form of military action has been or will be taken. It also mandates that troops be withdrawn within 60 to 90 days unless Congress authorizes continued engagement.

So, looking at this resolution, how then can a conflict continue so long unchecked unless Congress allows it.

The simple answer is:

Don’t call it a war!

The word ‘war’ is the trigger that allegedly initiates other legal Constitutional safeguards. So, as President, as long as you mind your tongue, you can pretty much get away with whatever you want.

The root problem of this, however, is the very Constitution that governs what we now do.

Written in 1787 and ratified in 1788, it rightfully represents “…the world’s longest surviving charter of government.  Its first three words – ‘We The People’ – affirm that the government of the United States exists to serve its citizens…”[i].

Specifically, in article I, section 8 of the Constitution, paraphrasing to the point in question, it reads:

“The Congress shall have Power To… declare War…”[ii]

If you read this whole section however, it’s basically a laundry list of all the things that Congress ‘shall have’ the power to do. Although this is very clear, what it does not say anywhere in that section is that Congress shall have exclusive power; only that they have power. This is probably why the above-mentioned War Powers Resolution was added much later specifically because it’s not very clear. So, you can see why today, with as complicated the government and all its associated laws have become, how it can sometimes be seen as “…more what you’d call ‘guidelines’ than actual rules…” [iii]

Don’t get me wrong here! I believe in the Constitution; I believe our founding fathers did a fine job with this amazing document. However, I also think that if they were here today and could see how far we’ve come, both good and bad, they’d probably have a lot to say about how we have interpreted the intent of their words.

I think the point here might be: What do you think our fearless leaders’ intention really is?

Well, if I’ve learned nothing else in my life, I’ve learned that there is no such thing as a coincidence.

So, let’s look at the global situation today: What are some of the main headlines -across the globe- affecting change, and drawing interest from just about everyone nationally and around the world?

I do agree there are many things that fit this category, no question. However, increasingly prevalent is the fallout from the slowly released Epstein files which has got the world in a tizzy. Everyone is either watching as it unfolds like an afternoon soap opera or frantically trying to cover their own posterior hoping they won’t be found out and lose everything.

This, of course includes our President.

Another important story in the headlines, in this country at least, is the coming mid-term elections. This is that ‘insignificant election’, two years into a President’s term, where so many of our fearless leader’s elected supporters across the country face the challenge of either keeping or losing their jobs.

On this front, there are clear signs of many MEGA politicians looking at the polls tilting against them.

This brings up another little item that most MEGA politicians hope we won’t notice.

Across the map of these ‘United States’, Republicans are working feverishly in multiple states, attempting to redraw Congressional districts to favor the conservative candidates of this upcoming election. Basically, this process is enacted by the individual state legislatures voting to adjust the boundaries of these districts which control who your vote counts towards. In this case, changing them so that the Republicans have the advantage. And, surprisingly, some of those people now apposing these moves are many of those same Republicans who have historically supported President Trump -up until now.

For example:

Indiana officials reject congressional redistricting plan despite Trump pressure. The state’s lawmakers voted Thursday to reject a bill that would give the state a new Republican-friendly congressional map.”[iv]

Using these tactics, many right-wing politicians would prefer to stack the deck in their own favor rather than correctly serve the voting public in their district.

This is just the tip of the iceberg, however. There are other efforts, such as eliminating or complicating the mail in voting process, forcing all voters to present a birth certificate or a passport as proof of citizenship. These acts would greatly diminish the volume of that portion of the voting public that typically vote against leadership like Trump. There are even rumors that the President might declare a “National Emergency” that would involve:

“…a plan for the president to issue an executive order (EO) that would declare a national emergency based on alleged election interference from a foreign government in order to exert sweeping control over the 2026 midterm elections.”[v]

Coincidences?

I think not!

After all, considering the Epstein files, look at the casualties thus far:

“Based on documents released by the U.S. Justice Department following January 2026

Key High-Profile Career Casualties (as of early 2026):

  • Prince Andrew (Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor): Stripped of his remaining titles and forced out of his royal residence following continued revelations of his association with Epstein. He was also briefly arrested in February 2026 on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
  • Peter Mandelson: Former U.K. ambassador to the U.S. and senior Labour Party figure; fired, resigned from the House of Lords, and faced a criminal investigation in the U.K. for alleged misconduct and receiving payments.
  • Larry Summers: Former Harvard president and U.S. Treasury Secretary; announced resignation from teaching at Harvard and resigned from the board of OpenAI.
  • Kathryn Ruemmler: Top lawyer at Goldman Sachs and former Obama White House counsel; resigned after revelations of her close relationship with Epstein.
  • Brad Karp: Resigned as chair of the prestigious law firm Paul Weiss after files revealed extensive, close interactions.
  • Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem: Resigned as CEO of DP World, a major Dubai-based logistics company, after being identified as a close friend of Epstein.
  • Børge Brende: President of the World Economic Forum (WEF) and former Norwegian Foreign Minister; resigned after revelations of continued contact with Epstein.
  • Thomas Pritzker: Executive chairman of Hyatt Hotels; stepped down after acknowledging continued contact with Epstein.
  • Casey Wasserman: CEO of a major talent agency; announced he is selling his company after his ties to Ghislaine Maxwell and Epstein caused a client exodus.
  • Richard Axel: Nobel Prize-winning scientist at Columbia University; resigned as co-director of a neuroscience institute.
  • Jack Lang: Former French Culture Minister; resigned as head of the Arab World Institute in Paris.
  • Mona Juul: Norway’s ambassador to Jordan; resigned following revelations that Epstein left $10 million in his will to her children.
  • Miroslav Lajčák: National security advisor to the prime minister of Slovakia; resigned after “foolish” messages with Epstein were revealed.
  • Dr. Peter Attia: Contributor to CBS News; resigned following revelations of their relationship.”[vi]

The complete list includes many more names, mostly mentioned because they are prominent figures that people know and care about. This probably doesn’t even scratch the surface of those who are not noteworthy that have also been affected by this.

And what about Iran?

Donald Trump may truly believe that Iran would have attacked at any moment. I’m sure he believes that his actions are justifiable and good for America. He has stated his case very clearly in this regard.

Since the war with Iran began, there has been an escalation of violence and attacks throughout the US that can be directly related to the war in Iran. From a truck bomb in Michigan against the Temple Israel synagogue.

Around the same time at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia a man who was previously convicted of supporting a designated terrorist group fatally shot one person and injured two others, both US Army personnel.[vii]

Unfortunately, this too often happens when the United States makes a stand against another country, weather it includes military action or not.

Regardless of the circumstances of these attacks, they are a tragedy and an unacceptable situation anywhere in this world.

Yet here is where we need to be careful.

It’s hard to imagine that anyone would even consider actions such as the invasion of another country simply to distract the general population from other activities they’d rather we didn’t notice, or pay attention to.

Magicians and tricksters alike have done this very same thing for centuries.

It’s called the old: “Sleight of Hand”, “bait & switch”, or “misdirection”. This is where one is so busy watching the spectacle presented by one hand to ever notice what’s going on with the other. Next thing you know, the rabbit is pulled out of the hat, or the ball in one hand turns into three in the other…

Or:

Justice for the horror and trauma suffered by those women, all victimized by a collection of disturbed wealthy elitist’s, will continue to go unanswered; all hopefully washed away by a President frantically trying to distract us from a part of his past he hopes we’ll forget.

And allowing the fog of war presented on the internet and the news cloud our focus away from these ongoing efforts to control the upcoming election is not serving the people of this country and the Constitution he swore to uphold.

“…casualties ‘often happen in war’ and ‘we expect casualties’[viii]

Sleight of Hand can be entertaining if you’re a magician. After all, it’s no great loss: It’s only an illusion.

But these decisions that our President is making are not illusions. Those who have died for this cause cannot be magically restored once the stage lights return. And the freedoms lost while we weren’t looking would be difficult to regain.

And trying to avoid responsibility for his mistakes with Epstein by making more poor decisions now, will not make him an honorable man or a better President.
