On The Go – Day 13
Today was interesting for a couple reasons.
First….. Japan!
But more specifically:
We needed to go on another shopping trip to purchase a specific Japanese type gift for a specific person. This, of course, can only be achieved by much walking and taking trains.
We ended the quest by taking one of Japan’s subways, which allowed us to get there with one train rather than a combination of several.
It’s important to understand here that Japan has trains like no other country I have seen thus far – especially compared to the US. Japan has trains, on top of trains, on top of trains.
I put together a collection of boring pictures of Amelia and I walking down a collection of stairs and exclators on our way to the train we needed to go to this specific store.
This collection of pics is not just a bunch of random shots of us and various strangers walking down flights of stars; this is the collection of stares we had to traverse to get to our train platform.
And on the way, at several stages were other routes to other trains at other levels.
I don’t know how they did it, but there rail system is one of the most complex and yet somehow efficient systems I have ever seen.
From bullet trains to clanking local trains, they are all clean, relatively quiet, and usually crowded.
Once we got to our destination, we ended up in this, mall, is the only way I can describe it. I only have a few shots of it, but it was the most interesting collection of interweaving shopping facilities spread out across and under several buildings. To the ‘guest’ from out of town, it was both frustrating to navigate as well as fascinating to behold.

It can be difficult for Google Maps to navigate you around what is a multi level complex where the very thing you are looking for might be several floors higher or lower than you presently are.

Finally however we were able to find our destination and obtain the booty we sought.
That’s it for today
Tomorrow: our last full day and flowers!
